Seibertron makes mention of a Tomahawk-repaint apparently called Vortex. While the name makes it quite clear this is supposed to be a G1 Combaticon homage, the grey and blue colour-scheme of the figure reminded me of Battletrap instead.

Which in turn reminds me that Hasbro still has yet to produce anything as cool as the Duocons. I guess they kind of tried to do so during Energon. But still two alts, one robot is better. Wait a sec…

I’ll probably pick up Vortex guy together with Skyhammer as some of the few not-shockingly-horrible Dark Of The Moon figures. Yes, I’m aware they’re both helicopters. Apparently, rotor blades bring out the best in Bayformers.

After the landgrab of registering a name with about.me, I figured I might as well do that also with the .me-domain du jour: threewords.me.

While about.me is basically a catch-all profile-linking page dressed up in a domain name that makes sense, threewords.me is different in that you don’t give anything away about yourself. Instead you ask people to describe you. In three words. Hence the domain name.

Results so far have been predictable at best, with ‘Transformers’, ‘nerd’ and ‘creative’ ranking in as the top 3. That’s a good thing, but at the same time either I’m an open book or I need more… evocative friends? Nah, probably just the former. Former. Trans. You know.

Anyway, feel free to open up your own and watch the masses whittle you down to a handful of concepts. It’s kind of fun.

Funny thing. When you are making toys you want to sell a lot of them. Makes sense right? So when you’ve got a set of toys, it’s a bit silly to cast them away next year to be replaced with new ones. Why, all that design work could be put to good use again.

And lo! You simply bring out the same toy in different colours; it’s a repaint. Or you change some minor parts of it slightly so it’s different enough to be a new toy; it’s a retool.
