Kiddie sells

Well it does, as long as you give a free game to those who pre-order. According to a certain press release, GameCube's The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker has already generated more than 560.000 pre-orders in the US of A. Of course that's impressive, but just to show off Nintendo mentions it has therefore exceeded the amount of pre-orders from GTA: Vice City. Suddenly people will take notice and GC fanboys will probably go into "Zelda is GTA killah!" mode... Oh dear.

It's not an entirely fair comparison though. After all, people who pre-order in America get the bonus disc so they can play the old Ocarina of Time immediately. That's quite the incentive. With GTA: Vice City you still had to wait grudging your teeth for weeks/months.
